As we age, it becomes increasingly more important to take care of our skin. In our day and age, we have the benefit of access to proven treatments and products so we can look and feel our best. We offer a comprehensive list of non-invasive skin care solutions including retin A treatments, TCA peels, phenol peels, dermabrasion, as well as skin fillers and Botox®.
We also work closely with several licensed aestheticians and community physicians to provide you with the most effective and up-to-date skin care treatments available like light treatments for spider veins, hair removal and skin resurfacing. Please ask if you are interested and we will set you up with the most appropriate provider.
The following treatments are available at our Grand Junction, Colorado, plastic surgery office:
An injection of Botox® Cosmetic (FDA approved) into your muscles eases moderate to severe frown lines between the brows. After the injections, you will notice improvement in these frown lines within days and the results can last up to 4 months.
Juvéderm™Juvéderm™ is another brand of FDA-approved hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers. This smooth consistency gel helps add volume and hydration to your face. Juvéderm™ is most commonly used to treat your smile lines, or nasolabial folds. This injectable process takes about 15 minutes to complete, and results can be immediate.
Restylane is another type of hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler. Like other hyaluronic dermal fillers, Restylane is free from animal proteins which eliminate risks of allergic reactions. Restylane is most commonly used to improve facial wrinkles and folds including nasolabial folds.
Radiesse is FDA approved to safely correct wrinkles and folds around the nose and mouth. Radiesse not only fills in your lines and wrinkles, it stimulates the production of collagen and encourages tissue regeneration. These immediate results can last up to one year.
Sculptra is used for restoring volume and improving facial contours. Additionally, Sculptra can be used in the back of hands for aging, the upper chest for deep lines and areas of depressions that may occur after liposuction.
Fat InjectionsFat Injections involve extracting fat cells from the patient's abdomen, thighs, buttocks or elsewhere and reinjecting them beneath the facial skin. Fat is most often used to fill in "sunken" cheeks or laugh lines between the nose and mouth, to correct skin depressions or indentations, to minimize forehead wrinkles and to enhance the lips.
A chemical peel involves the application of a chemical (TCA or phenol) to exfoliate your skin. This procedure will help improve the softness and brightness of your skin. Additionally, peels will help diminish large pores, wrinkles and discoloration of the skin. Additional treatments along with a comprehensive skin care program are recommended to experience the best results.
Phenol is the strongest of the chemical solutions and produces a deep peel. It is used mainly to treat patients with coarse facial wrinkles, areas of blotchy or damaged skin caused by sun exposure, or pre-cancerous growths. Since phenol sometimes lightens the treated areas, your skin pigmentation may be a determining factor as to whether or not this is an appropriate treatment for you.
TCA PeelA TCA (trichloro acetic acid) peel is an aggressive chemical peel technique used to improve the overall texture and tone of your skin. Peels help diminish large pores and discoloration of the skin. Additional treatments along with a comprehensive skin care program are recommended to experience the best results.
In laser resurfacing, sometimes called "laser peel," a carbon dioxide (CO2) laser is used to remove areas of damaged or wrinkled skin, layer by layer. The procedure is most commonly used to minimize the appearance of fine lines, especially around the mouth and the eyes. However, it is also effective in treating facial scars or areas of uneven pigmentation. Laser resurfacing may be performed on the whole face or in specific regions.
Removing unwanted hair on your own can be very time consuming and even painful. If you are tired of shaving every day or you are finished with getting wax treatments, you may be a great candidate for laser hair removal. We use a rapid and gentle laser technique to destroy hair follicles in your problem area. While only one treatment can produce some long term results, it is always recommended to return for multiple treatments to experience the best results.
Laser Vein Removal Laser technology today lets us perform laser vein removal faster and more effective without rupture or extensive bruising. This permanent laser technique provides an easy solution with very minimal discomfort. The most common areas for vein removal are in the face and legs.
Despite the increase of breast reconstruction procedures performed in 2008, nearly 70 percent of women who are eligible for the procedure are not informed of the reconstructive options available to them, according to a recently published report.
